Mission Statement

	︎
Our aim is to provide useful and accurate information about healthy lifestyles based on ancient Himalayan wisdom that has been passed down through the centuries.&#38;nbsp; Our goal is to offer, especially to those living in countries and places where no stores are available,
an opportunity to buy our ever growing selection
of quality
Himalayan herbal remedies and related health products.
By doing this we hope to support and promote the invaluable Himalayan herbal tradition to the wider world. We select the finest and most effective products from the Himalayan herbal medical traditions and our hope is to make people’s lives happier and healthier. There are many problems affecting us all.&#38;nbsp; Our lifestyle often is way too busy, challenging and stressful. Mentally we are over burdened and anxious.
Our sleep cycle is irregular, we over-use technological devices and we go to bed too late. Modern lifestyles often are too sedentary and we commonly follow a wrong diet and consequently suffer from inflammation. All of the above have a negative effect on our nervous and hormonal systems, causing long term problems. Chronic high levels of stress hormones such as cortisol can lead to adrenal burnout,
that can have very negative effects on our body and mind.
Our remedies, that target a variety of these issues, can help harmonize our organisms, strengthening our bodies and on a mental level to make us more relaxed and focused.

UNDERSTANDING&#38;nbsp; WIND&#38;nbsp; (Loong)&#38;nbsp; DISORDERS&#38;nbsp;

🇵🇱.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; 🇷🇺.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; 🇫🇷.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; 🇪🇸.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp;🇮🇹.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;🇩🇪.

						︎

What is the wind (loong) humour in Tibetan medicine? The general functions of the ‘wind’ humour (loong) concern sense perceptions,
awareness and movements of body and limbs, respiration, swallowing food and
drink, circulation of the blood, retaining and evacuating faeces and urine, opening
and closing of the orifices, the workings of the nervous system and the circulation
of the nutritive essence through blood.

To understand the importance attributed to loong, it is said that after conception,
in the initial stages of development of a foetus in the mother’s womb, loong formed
our body, sustained its development, and now keeps it alive. For this reason, the
primal aspect of loong is referred to as Vital Wind (sog loong),
meaning the very life force of the individual.

There are different types of loong, each with its own specific functions. These
perform ordinary and extraordinary functions in both body and mind. Loong
determines the ordinary physiological functions such as breathing, swallowing of
food and drinks, excretion, movements, and exertion. It supports the assimilation
of the nutritive essence by carrying it through the circulation of the blood,
regenerates the organic components of the body, and confers physical strength.

Wind also plays a major role in mental and cognitive processes; it sustains
memory and awareness, confers the sense faculties the capacity to perceive and
gives the sense of physical and psychic equilibrium. Wind accompanies every state
of mind, therefore it determines our feeling of happiness or sorrow, and our over
all emotional stability or instability.

Loong is connected to the body’s energy circulation and to physical movement, a
bridge between body and mind. In Tibetan Dharma discourse when talking about
the mind engaging with subtle winds, the mind is compared to the rider and loong
to the horse, where the two should interact harmoniously. If the loong is mastered
beneficial effects will ensue in the body, energy and mind. A correctly flowing
loong is pivotal not only for the progression of a meditator’s practice but also for
any individual to be healthy, both physically and mentally.

You can understand the importance of correct functioning and flowing of loong to
ensure good health and well being. Unfortunately, there are many ways in which
this can be disturbed, fortunately there are three different ancient remedies,
SEMDE, VIMALA and AGAR 35 that can help balance and strengthen your loong.

︎

Causes of Wind (loong) disturbances

						︎

When loong becomes imbalanced it gives rise to various illness, both mental and
physical. Often incorrect lifestyles and diets are at the root of these disturbances. If one follows a prolonged diet of excessively light and non-nutritious foods for a
long time, like eating only yogurt and salad; or bitter foods with a coarse quality.

Health troubles, particularly those involving severe blood loss; acute diarrhoea or
vomiting; exposure to cool breezes; and forceful retention or effort in
physiological functions such as urination and defecation all affect loong workings.

Loong also feels the repercussions if we engage in overly strenuous physical or
intellectual activities. Doing these when sleep deprived or on an empty stomach is
particularly harmful. Excessive sexual activity, speaking too much, or crying also
affects the loong. On a mental level, obsessive thinking can also create imbalances.

︎

How to Recognize Wind Disorders
︎

Wind disorders can manifest symptoms at different levels of our existence - body,
behaviour and mind. At the body level, one’s tongue is dry, red and coarse, one has
an astringent taste in the mouth, unhealthy or dark complexion, open pores of the
skin and standing bodily hairs, and a dry and rough skin. Generally persons
effected by Wind disorders become thin and physically weak. One may have
problems with digestion such as abdominal distension and intestinal rumbling,
constipation.

Uncomfortable physical sensations and pain are often present in this condition.
The person may feel intense sensation of cold; cold shivering; dizziness; humming
and buzzing sounds in the ears; stiffness at the limbs; constriction at the limbs;
and even one’s clothes touching one’s bodily hair cause pain.

Pain manifests in the eyes and skin, hip bones, lumbar region, and in the joints;
sharp pain during movements; and when the critical points of Wind humour are
pressed. Shooting pains can manifest at the nape of the neck, chest and cheek
bones. The particular characteristic of pain in this condition is that it is not fixed
in one location but shifts from to different parts of the body.

The person may also cough in response to a sensation of obstruction in the throat;
or cough up phlegm in the evening and around dawn. One may experience sighing; continuous yawning; unproductive retching;
trembling; a wish to stretch; fondness for warmth; insomnia; loquacity or little
inclination to engage in conversation with others.

At the mental level one experiences perceptive problems; unclear mind (loss of
memory and attention); restlessness and anxiety; unmotivated irritability; mental
and physical feeling of lightness and disorientation. These mental states can put
our mental health at stake and are a constant feature of Wind disorders.

︎

How you can overcome loong disturbances

						︎

Adopting a diet suitable for your constitution, as well as doing proper exercise,
yoga, praṇāyāma, and meditation are also excellent important methods of
reducing stress and controlling loong imbalances. There are also three very
powerful and ancient remedies: AGAR35, SEMDE and VIMALA.︎

		<description>

THE THREE HUMOURS
︎

A basic tenet of Tibetan medicine is that the functioning of the human organism is supported by the three humours, in Tibetan nyes pa gsum.

These humours arise from various combinations of the elements. Air and space produces the 'wind' (loong) humor. Water and earth produces the ‘phlegm’ (peken) humor; energy, fire and water combine to form the 'bile' (treepa) humor.

The general functions of the 'wind' humor (loong) concerning sense perception, awareness and movements of body and limbs, respiration, swallowing food and drink, circulation of the blood, retaining and evacuating faeces and urine, opening and closing the orifices, the workings of the nervous system and the circulation of the nutritive essence through blood. The general function of 'phlegm' (peken) is to develop the humid wet components of the body, such as saliva and gastric juices and so forth; maintain and safeguard body humidity; prepare food for assimilation; enable digestion; strengthen physical health; make the skin more supple; stabilize the mind; and induce sleep. The general functions of the 'bile' humor (treepa) are to ensure and protect the body heat and particular heat for digestion; maintain the complexion; regulate the stimuli of hunger and thirst; enable digestion of food and drink; and govern the production of bodily substances through the blood (Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, 2006).

Special remedies connected with great Tibetan and Indian masters︎
In the Himalayan medical and spiritual tradition several famous masters have come to be associated with celebrated pill formulas.
Some of these are:

	Vimala a remedy formulated by the eighth-century Dzogchen master Vimalamitra.&#38;nbsp;
	The Rinchen Rilnag ‘precious black pill’ developed in the Karmapa lineage and the Dashel Dutsima ‘moon crystal nectar’, an elixir whose formula was said to have been transmitted by a ḍākinī to Ju Mipham Gyatso during his practice.&#38;nbsp;
	Thangtong Gyalpo was a famous master and cultural hero, often depicted in paintings and statues holding a long-life pill. We are happy to offer is renowned formula, Drutob Rilkar, the ‘white yogic pill’ also known as Dubril.&#38;nbsp;

		<title>Botanical Plasticity </title>

		<description>

THE CONCEPT OF BOTANICAL PLASTICITY

︎
In the preparation of Himalayan herbal formulas it is common to dynamically adapt the formulas.

The recipes might be altered according to the regional flora or where they may be issues of endangered plant species, unavailability of substances, avoidance of controversial non-herbal ingredients, or difficulties in obtaining a high enough quality of the ingredients. A qualified and experienced doctor may also substitute, add or not use ingredients in order to improve a formula.

The traditional formula names are kept even when ingredients in the remedies are simplified or reformulated.

This botanical plasticity, while retaining the same profile of action, allows the Tibetan medical physician to respond to difficulties in raw material supply as well as to the regional flora and local conditions without altering the essence of the formula.

TRADITIONAL TIBETAN VERSES ON THE POWER OF PLANTS

The following verses praise the medicinal qualities of plants.
They are found&#38;nbsp; in a religious text called Divine Blue Water.
The text was said to have been written by Guru Padmasambhava,
when he visited Tibet on the invitation of king Trisong Detsen.
Guru Padmasambhava taught the king a healing&#38;nbsp;
practice
for purification (called SANG in Tibetan).

		<description>
Our Herbal Ingredients

In our formulas we use a great variety of ingredients, from different geographical regions. Tibet once was on the silk route, where many different plant species were traded. Later on, when the British occupied India for centuries they brought, cultivated and diffused different herbs and spices from all over the world.When recreating classical formulas, we avoid using endangered plants, and we opt to use alternative ones with similar properties, according to the principle of ‘botanical plasticity’.No animal products are used. The herbs, free from pesticides and heavy metals,&#38;nbsp; are safe for human consumption. The herbs we use are grown in an eco-sustainable manner. We strive to respect nature and tradition.

Tibetan medical practice

︎
Tibetan medical practice dates back at least to the twelfth century, and has been evolving ever since. Nowadays its regional distribution extends across the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the Himalayan region (including Ladakh, northern India, Nepal, and Bhutan), and north up to Mongolia and Buryatia. Although labelled rather pejoratively as ‘alternative’ medicine, Tibetan medical formulas are time-tested and this healing tradition is socially validated, by millions of patients over the centuries. Here you can see different documentaries and talks about the Tibetan medical tradition.
